Conflicting apps problem while starting Nokia browser: Solved

This post provides you a solution to the serious problem in the Nokia phones especially in the 200, 202 series.

Problem

The stock browser given by Nokia named Nokia browser or Ovi browser stops functioning after an update. It stops because when the phone asks "Keep the previous version or replace it" you Have selected Keep the previous version. This is the problem. So if you are going to update the browser select replace the old with new version. Now lets see how to solve this. Nokia 200 with browser

Solution

If your present Nokia browser doesn't work because of any other reasons, this trick may work for you. The loophole is Nokia phone provides you an additional browser which is capable of downloading java files. This browser even works after the death of the main browser. We are going to use this for replacing the conflicting apps with the Nokia browser.

Steps

  • Download any of the browsers like Uc browser or opera mini in your phone through Nokia store
  • If you have any of the above before skip this step
  • Point your Uc browser or opera mini to Ovi browser.jad
  • It is a jad file
  • When Uc browser asks what to do press install.
  • When you use opera mini it automatically opens the additional browser
  • After that press "yes" if the phone browser asks "Go to http://iurli.tk/ovi"
  • Then your phone will ask "Replace version 2.3.0 with this". Press yes for that question.
  • Wait until the phone downloads it
  • Then enjoy browsing with ovi browser.
  • Even if any update is made, the browser wil notify about it to you
