Today I'm going to share some of the undiscovered features of the vlc media player. They are, It allows you to stream videos from popular video streaming sites like YouTube and you can convert videos from one format to another in simple steps.
And you can also save( record ) them in your hard disc for your use. And the good thing about Vlc is it doesn't stuck the play almost in slow network connections.
Streaming YouTube videos in vlc media player
Things you need:- Vlc media player
- A working network connection in your pc
Steps: - Copy the URL of the YouTube video
- Open vlc on your computer
- Click media
- Select open network streaming (or) Ctrl N
- Paste the url of the video you've copied already.
- Click play
- The video will be streamed
To save it in your hard disk - Click tools
- Select codec information
- You will see a location box in the bottom . Copy that url and paste it in the browser. It will start downloading
To record - Go to View and then advanced control
- Now in the advanced Control option you will see a record button. Just click it to start / stop recording.
To convert videos from one format to another
- Press CTRL R (or)Media--Convert / save
- Add the file you want to convert in the first section.
- Press convert / save and give the file name , destination and format to VLc and click start.
- It will start converting and save it in the desired folder.
